More affordable housing could soon be making its way to Los Angeles, following a recent project application from local real estate developer Eleos Ventures. According to that application, the firm is planning to construct a 221-unit fully affordable housing project in the city’s South Park neighborhood.
The project site is located at 4800 S Main St., a site currently developed with several commercial buildings. Per the application, the site would be redeveloped with a seven-story building that would house a mix of units reserved for moderate- and low-income households. The site is located just off Interstate 101 and is primarily surrounded by various commercial and retail properties.
Not many other details about the application have been made known at this time. However, the development firm has several other affordable projects planned throughout the city.
Earlier this year, the firm also submitted plans for a 222-unit fully affordable housing complex at 7715-7725 S Crenshaw Blvd. This project would also stand seven stories tall and feature a mix of unit types, including 24 studios, 162 one-bedroom and 36 two-bedroom units, according to previous reporting from The Registry.
Other affordable housing projects have also been proposed around Greater Los Angeles.
Meta Housing Corp. previously submitted plans for a 301-unit affordable housing development located at 21300 Oxnard Blvd. in Warner Center. The project would include the construction of two buildings comprising studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, along with parking for 229 vehicles.
