Redcar Properties, a locally based development firm, has revealed plans for a revamped office building project in Santa Monica. The proposed development, located at 1630 Euclid St., was recently presented to the city’s Architectural Review Board, showcasing a redesigned aesthetic and innovative features, Urbanize Los Angeles reported.
The three-story office building, spanning 47,300 square feet, will boast a hybrid mass timber construction, complemented by rooftop solar panels and a two-level underground garage.
The project is designed by Culver City-based House & Robertson Architects. Renderings of the project depict floor-to-ceiling windows, surrounded by outdoor balconies and stairways, creating an inviting workspace environment. Additionally, there would be a rooftop deck shaded by a trellis canopy.
Santa Monica planning staff have recommended approval of the project, citing its innovative design and contribution to the city’s architectural landscape. The proposed offices will connect to a neighboring building at 1650 Euclid.
According to Redcar Properties’ website, the firm focuses on acquiring under performing assets throughout the Greater Los Angeles area and adding value through redevelopment. The firm is working on another project in Santa Monica, The Registry reported last year. Located at 3122 Nebraska Ave., the project is a 75,135 square foot commercial office building standing four stories. The project’s designs come from HGA.
