Captura Corp. Leases 8,408 SQFT R&D/Flex Facility in Pasadena

Pasadena, CA – December 6, 2024 – NAI Capital Commercial is pleased to announce that Executive Vice Presidents John S. Archibald and Guillermo Olaiz of the Investment Services Group in the Pasadena office successfully completed the lease of an 8,408-square-foot R&D/Flex facility in Pasadena, California. John and Guillermo represented the landlord, San Gabriel Capital, LP, and the tenant, Captura Corp., was represented by Shadd Walker of Colliers International in the transaction.

Located at 60 N. San Gabriel Blvd., this state-of-the-art R&D/Flex facility features multi-million-dollar lab upgrades. The former occupant, Materia, is a Nobel Prize recipient in 2005 in collaboration with Caltech Professor Robert Grubbs for renewable energy advancements. The property offers a full block of frontage on a main Pasadena thoroughfare at a signalized intersection, providing excellent visibility and access. It also includes executive offices with a lab buildout, and multiple hoods and is conveniently situated just two blocks from the 210 Foothill Freeway.

Captura, founded in 2021, emerged from a technology developed in Caltech’s laboratories. The company provides a low-cost ocean carbon removal solution with minimal environmental impact. This location will house engineers and researchers from Captura, a direct ocean capture company.

John stated, “Only a short distance from Caltech, this property is ideally located for business and research operations. The landlord is extremely excited about having Captura in their project.” John added, the remaining 19,266 square feet of space at the project consist of built-out lab space and high-end corporate headquarters office space, which should be leased out very shortly given the abundance of interested parties. Giving further evidence that Pasadena, home to Caltech, the world-renowned science and engineering institute continues to attract and produce startups in the sciences and engineering fields.
