Ben Dalton, Partner at The Miller Hull Partnership, has been elected President of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) San Diego branch. Ben has helped establish and grow Miller Hull’s San Diego presence over the past 15 years and has been an active AIA member since 2012, joining the Executive Committee in 2024.
Ben steps into the role at a pivotal moment for the chapter and the city. His presidency coincides with San Diego hosting the national AIA conference in June and comes one year ahead of the chapter’s 100th anniversary. Dalton’s priorities include showcasing the city’s architecture, supporting local firms and students, and strengthening the chapter’s visibility and impact in the community.
“San Diego is blessed with a robust bi-national culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and passionate citizens who value design, but we are at a crossroads with affordability, climate risks, and urban development challenges,” Ben Dalton said. “Architects can help guide the city toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future, and that’s why this role is so meaningful.”
