The Woodlands Bets $50MM to Buy Permanent Freedom From Houston Annexation

The Woodlands Township and the City of Houston will vote Aug. 26 on a $50 million settlement that would dissolve a shared sales-tax fund and permanently strip Houston of any authority to annex one of the nation's largest master-planned communities, trading cash for certainty in a corporate submarket that anchors the region's northern edge.
