Austin Mayor Kirk Watson on Oct. 14 unveiled a donor-backed framework under which the University of Texas would convey the 141-acre Lions Municipal Golf Course to the city for preservation, in exchange for a rewritten set of development rules on the university's surrounding Brackenridge land along Lake Austin Boulevard and Lady Bird Lake.
