Conroe startup Hertha Metals is preparing to break ground this year on Project Chalyx, a $100 million commercial facility that aims to make it the first domestic producer of magnet-grade high-purity iron at scale, positioning the company at the center of a national push to cut reliance on Chinese rare-earth supply chains.
